Offshore Hosting: What It Means
Offshore hosting means using hosting infrastructure in a country or jurisdiction selected for location, privacy, connectivity, resilience or operational reasons. It may include offshore web hosting, offshore shared hosting, offshore VPS and offshore dedicated servers.
Offshore hosting does not provide immunity from law, court orders, datacenter rules, upstream network requirements or VeltrixHost policies. Illegal activity, fraud, scams, phishing, credential theft, malware, abusive spam, attacks and other prohibited conduct are not allowed on VeltrixHost services.
1. Scope
This policy applies to traffic originating from, destined to, relayed through or materially facilitated by a VeltrixHost service or assigned IP address. It applies to customer activity and to compromised systems the customer controls.
2. Attacks and Malicious Traffic
- DDoS/DoS attacks, floods and reflection/amplification traffic are prohibited.
- Brute-force attacks, credential stuffing and exploit attempts against systems you do not own or have permission to test are prohibited.
- Botnets, command-and-control systems, malware distribution and ransomware infrastructure are prohibited.
- IP spoofing, route hijacking and deliberate source falsification are prohibited.
3. Scanning and Reconnaissance
Mass port scanning, ZMap-style scanning, vulnerability scanning, network sweeps or similar reconnaissance against third-party systems is prohibited without explicit authorization from the target. Security testing against systems you own should be rate-limited and must not create abuse for the network.
4. Open or Abusable Services
- Unauthenticated open SMTP relays are prohibited.
- Open DNS resolvers that can be abused for amplification may be blocked.
- Public open HTTP/SOCKS proxies that facilitate abuse may be restricted.
- Misconfigured services creating amplification, reflection, packet storms or excessive conntrack state may be filtered until corrected.
5. Compromised Servers
A compromised server remains the customer’s responsibility. VeltrixHost may temporarily isolate, null-route or suspend a compromised service to stop ongoing harm. Restoration may require password resets, OS reinstall, malware removal or evidence that the vulnerable service has been secured.
6. IP Reputation and Blocklists
Customers must not intentionally damage the reputation of assigned IP addresses. Repeated abuse listings, malicious traffic or failure to respond to credible network complaints may result in IP replacement, port restrictions or service termination. VeltrixHost does not guarantee removal from third-party blocklists.
7. Enforcement
Depending on urgency, VeltrixHost may warn the customer, apply traffic filters, close ports, rate-limit, null-route an IP, suspend a VM/server or terminate the service. Active attacks, phishing, malware or other severe threats may be stopped immediately.
Where practical, notices will identify the affected resource, evidence available and the action needed to restore service. Customers must stop the harmful activity, secure compromised access and respond within the deadline in the notice. Restoration depends on adequate remediation and any applicable upstream restrictions. Customers may submit supporting evidence through support if they believe a restriction was applied in error.
8. Abuse Reports
Network abuse reports should include IP address, timestamps with time zone, relevant logs or packet evidence, and a clear description of the activity. Submit reports through the support system.
These website policies are intended to state VeltrixHost’s service rules clearly. Mandatory law may create rights or obligations that cannot be excluded by contract. If a requirement is important to your order, contact VeltrixHost before payment.
